Guide. Фотограф в Черногории Анастасия Поденко

Hi!

On this page I have collected useful tips on how to prepare for a photo shoot. I know you want to feel comfortable during a photo shoot, enjoy both the process and the result.

Therefore, I believe this guide will be useful to you)

On the set we will work together, you will be the model, and I will help with posing, offer ideas, encourage, sometimes make you laugh, in general, in every possible way help you relax and get ready for the shoot.

But there is something on which the success of the entire event will largely depend.

It is important to pay attention to the preparation so that everything goes without haste, fuss, and you can focus on yourself, your emotions and the process:

  • Condition
  • Body
  • Clothing
  • Timing

Condition

Your state of mind and psychological attitude are the key to everything, including a successful photo shoot:

Sleep: a good night’s sleep before a photo shoot will help you look and feel fresh and energetic.

Posing: before your photo shoot, look through magazines, note the poses you like, and try them out in front of the mirror. This will help you feel more confident.

Invite a friend: if you feel more comfortable with someone close, take a friend or family member with you.

Communication: tell the photographer how you will be comfortable communicating, ask questions, share your ideas. A photo shoot is a shared creativity.

Focus: remember the moments when you felt confident and beautiful. Keep these images in your head during the shoot.

Be yourself: do not strive to be perfect. Naturalness and sincerity always look better in photographs. And remember that your unique features make you special!

Body

Plan a trip to a beauty salon in advance so that you can spend some time on yourself a few days before the shoot. When we look good, we feel confident.

Skin: do a light exfoliation and moisturize your skin well. Avoid self-tanner, it rarely looks natural in photos. It is also better not to wear accessories that leave marks on the skin on the day of the shoot.

Hair: clean and well-groomed hair will add confidence in the frame. The day before the shoot, you can do a moisturizing mask.

Nails: a fresh manicure and pedicure, it is best if it is in natural shades that can be easily combined with any image.

Makeup: if you rarely do makeup in everyday life, then take moisturizing eye drops with you to the shoot. They will be especially useful if you recently had eyelash extensions.

Food: a few days before the shoot, avoid foods that lead to fluid retention in the body and can cause swelling. In the morning before shooting, be sure to have breakfast with your usual food so that you have enough energy.

Clothing

Choosing the right look is an important part of preparation. It is better to test new outfits in advance. On the day of the shoot, choose something that is already familiar and comfortable for you.

Comfort: clothes should be comfortable so that you can move freely in them. Choose 2-3 looks and try them on at home in advance.

Underwear: Also, carefully select underwear — it is better if it is flesh-colored and seamless. Check that it fits well, does not restrict your movements and does not peek out from under your clothes.

Color scheme: it is better to give preference to neutral or pastel shades, avoid bright and flashy colors so that they do not distract attention from you.

Accessories: add accessories, but in moderation. They can add zest, but should not distract.

Timing

Well-planned timing is the key to peace of mind during the shoot:

Booking: try to book your photo shoot in advance so that you have enough time to prepare.

Time allowance: traffic jams, delays at the hairdresser’s, or the need to steam clothes — all this should be taken into account to avoid fuss.

Punctuality: arrive on time so that we have enough time for all the planned shots!

What might you need?

  • Cygienic lipstick or lip gloss
  • Wet, dry wipes, cotton swabs
  • Comb, nail file
  • Pin, thread and needle
  • Body cream
  • For outdoor shooting: cream with SPF, insect repellent
